Rockford Scanner™: Drug Bust in Boone County




 

The Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit concludes a two month drug investigation with the arrest of a Rockford resident on felony Drug Charges which began with information developed by Boone County patrol deputies regarding crack cocaine sales.

On Tuesday June 18th, Santos Luis Garcia-Guerrero, age 27, was arrested in Boone County on an arrest warrant obtained by the Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit. Garcia-Guerrero has been charged with one count of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance, 1-15 grams of cocaine (Class 1 Felony), and one count of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance, less than one gram of cocaine.

A class 1 felony is punishable by 4-15 years in the Department of Corrections. A Class 2 felony is punishable by 3-7 years in the Department of Corrections.

The Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit encourages anyone having additional information regarding narcotic trafficking or other criminal activity to call the Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit at (815)544-2135 or Crimestoppers at (815)547-7867.

Members of the public are reminded that these are only charges and are not proof of the defendant’s guilt. Every defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which it is the State’s burden to prove his or her guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

 








 

Rockford Scanner™: Suspect Rams A Police Squad, While Fleeing From Police




Note: Police are currently chasing this vehicle. It rammed a police squad car while fleeing. Unknown on injuries.  Last seen on Milwaukee in Beloit, with many officers chasing it.

Beloit and surrounding area… we are looking for this vehicle a 2017 Dodge Challenger which was stolen during a burglary. The license plate is AAH3183. The suspect is believed to have also taken at least 1 firearm and should be considered armed and dangerous. If you see this vehicle call 911

Rockford Scanner™: Playground Equipment on fire in Rockford




We have been told this was a brand new playground equipment set that was recently built.  They believe it is arson, The cause of the fire is under investigation.  Video by RS Source


Tonight at approximately 5:30 p.m., crews from RockfordFire were dispatched to West View Elementary School, 1720 Halsted Road, for playground equipment on fire. We ask if anyone has information on this fire to call us at (779) 348-7172 or CrimeStoppers at (888) 769-7867.


Sources are reporting some playground equipment on fire.

It happened around 5:30 PM today near Halsted in Rockford.

Reports of the playground equipment on fire and the RFD are on scene.

Rockford Scanner™: Woman Flees From Police In A Stolen Vehicle, After “Taking it For A Test Drive”




Update: We been told she has been identified and possibly arrested. not yet confirmed.

Suspect Wanted for Stolen Vehicle Pursuit

On 06-17-2019 at 4:53 pm Officer were Dispatched to The Hubb Auto for what started out as a civil dispute. We later learned the suspects arrived in a stolen car and took a car from The Hubb Auto for a “test drive.” It was quickly learned this was a fraud and that vehicle was stolen.

Officer Severson initiated a short pursuit on I-39. The pursuit was terminated for safety concerns. The suspects fled south to the 600 Block of West Sunny Lane. Officers were able to apprehend the male suspect. The female suspect is still at large.

The female is described as a white female, approximately 5’06”-5’08” weighing approximately 160 pounds and has blonde hair. She was last seen wearing jean cut off shorts, a white shirt or tank top and tennis shoes. She was last seen running in the area of Sunny lane and Highway 51. She does not have a phone and does not know anyone in the area. This couple is being investigated for several frauds and stolen vehicles at this point.

Rockford Scanner™: Fatal Motorcycle Accident




 

On June 17, 2019 at 3:57 PM, Rock County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a traffic crash on Hwy 14 at Hackbarth Rd,. in Janesville Township.

A line of vehicles was traveling eastbound on Hwy 14 approaching Hackbarth Rd. and began to slow down for a vehicle turning onto N West River Dr.

Within the line of cars was a Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Gerald E. Field (36, from Watertown, WI), which failed to slow down and struck a Harley Davidson, operated by a 68 year old Janesville man.

The impact pushed the Harley Davidson into the rear of a Honda Accord, driven by Johanna E. Yoder (72, from Crystal Lake, Illinois.) Both the operator of the Harley Davidson and the Accord had slowed down prior to the crash.

The 68 year old Janesville man was taken to a local hospital but later died. He was not wearing a helmet.

Field is believed to have been falling asleep prior to the crash. Field will be cited for Inattentive Driving.

As a result of the crash Hwy 14 was closed for approximately 2 hours.

Pursuant to the directive of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicity, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Sources are reporting a vehicle has drove into a local business.

It happened around 3 pm today near the Blush Nails & Spa, 4682 E Rockton Rd, Roscoe, IL

A vehicle is reported to have crashed into the front of the business.

Unknown on injuries at the time of writing this.








 

Rockford Scanner™: SWAT At A Local Park, Possible Fire Scene




Sources are reporting 2 scenes in the area this afternoon.

Source said “There is swat at schoonmaker park as of about 5 minutes ago here in Machesney Park. Not sure what is going on. Just drove by and was startled by swat officer in bushes just north of the park and the swat vehicles in the park.”

#1  Schoonmaker Park in Machesney Park is swarming with the SWAT team in the park and around the bushes of the park.  Unknown why.

#2 Numerous emergency personnel working a scene near Eisenhower School in Rockford.  We have been told this is a fire scene, but not confirmed yet.

UPDATE: Confirmed fire. 3200 block of Spring Creek.   An investigator is on scene to determine the cause of the fire. Fire is under control, no reports of injuries.

Rockford Scanner™: Another Major Scene On The East Side, Possible Shooting




UPDATE: Several of you are asking us about the scene on 20th. We tried contacting the RPD for info.

RPD is denying the scene, saying there is no scene there. So unfortunately we will not have any info for you on this scene, sorry.


Sources are reporting a major scene on the East side.
It happened near 20th st and 23rd ave. 

Numerous police are on scene and the police crime scene tape is up.

We have been told this is another shooting.
But police have yet to release any information on this scene.

You want to avoid the area for several hours. We will try posting updates, if they become available.

 








 

Rockford Scanner™: Shooting: 20 Year Old Man Is Dead After Being Shot in Rockford




UPDATE from the Winnebago County Coroner: 


MURDER: Rockford Police responded to a shooting this morning in the 100 block of Adams. The shooting incident proceeded to the area of State and Summit. A 20 year old male is dead. Police are searching for the suspect. They know who it is, but have yet to release the suspect information. Police had the area blocked off for several hours while investigating, but is now back open.

We have been told the suspect is in a silver jeep with a bike rack, going west on Revelle.
