TIPS LEAD TO ARREST: “I want to commend the citizens for providing us the initial information so we could locate, investigate and arrest one more drug dealer. Our continued partnerships with the citizens of Rockford is paying off, and together we are making Rockford a safer city,” said Chief O’Shea.
“I was wondering if you could do me a favor, early this morning (around 1am on Sunday May 19th) I was driving down first Ave and I stopped at a red light on the intersection of 1st Ave and south 6th St, while I was stopped, another driver hit the back side of my car and proceeded to drive off while 2 police cars tried to chase him down, unfortunately he got away.
All I am asking for is for you to make people aware of a grey/silver sedan that has a big dent/damage in the front end due to hitting the rear of my truck. People shouldn’t get away with a hit and run especially after hitting someone that’s fully stopped at a red light.”
Strong to isolated severe thunderstorms will move across northern Illinois and northwest Indiana beginning late this morning and continuing into mid afternoon.
