Rockford Scanner™: Accident On The East Side, Avoid The Area

Sources are reporting an accident in Rockford.

It happened in the area of Charles and 9th st.

2 vehicles were involved in the accident. A truck and also a big white vehicle, that some described as a box truck and others have said it was a small white bus.

Injuries were being reported. Unknown on the severity of the injuries.

Please avoid the area or expect traffic delays

At 1026 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Machesney Park to near Pecatonica to near
Shannon. Movement was southeast at 40 mph.

Pea size hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with
these storms.

Locations impacted include…
Rockford, Belvidere, Loves Park, Machesney Park, Rochelle, South
Beloit, Rockton, Oregon, Mount Morris, Rockford Airport, Roscoe,
Poplar Grove, Byron, Cherry Valley, Winnebago, Polo, Pecatonica,
Forreston, Durand and Hillcrest.

Including the following interstates…
I-39 between mile markers 97 and 123.
I-88 between mile markers 75 and 82.
I-90 between mile markers 1 and 2, and between mile markers 51 and

This includes… Boone County Fairgrounds, Castle Rock State Park,
Lowden State Park, Ogle County Fairgrounds, Rock Cut State Park, Rock
Valley College, Rockford Aviators Baseball, Rockford Speedway, White
Pines State Park, and Winnebago County Fairgrounds.


Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded

Rockford Scanner™: Rockford Man Is Dead After Crashing His Motorcycle, Another Man Seriously Injured

Update : The deceased individual has been identified as Harvey Lee Keller Jr., age 32, of Rockford. We extend our condolences to his loved ones.

BPD: We are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred at 11:57 p.m. Wednesday on Gateway Boulevard near South Turtle Town Hall Road.

Two individuals were involved on two motorcycles. A 32-year-old Rockford man died on scene. A 30-year-old Rockford man was transported to a Rockford hospital for his injuries, which included the loss of his right foot. That man is currently in stable condition.

We are looking to speak to a third individual who possibly witnessed this accident.

The Wisconsin State Patrol is completing the accident reconstruction.

Rockford Scanner™: Several Emergency personnel On Scene Of A School Bus Accident, Roads Shut Down. Still Developing


Update: Reports are saying no students on the bus were injured. But the occupants of the vehicle did sustain injuries. The bus was rear ended by a vehicle.  From the looks of the photo that was sent to us, a vehicle rear ended another vehicle, then it rear ended the bus (Obviously not confirmed) . The cause of the accident is under investigation

Several sources are reporting a bad accident that involves a school bus.

Reports of numerous emergency personnel on scene and the roads are shut down in the area.

Multiple injuries were being reported, unknown on the severity of the injuries.

On Newburg between Belvidere and Cherry Valley. Road closed both ways.

No other information at this time.
