Sources are reporting a scene at Aldene Park.

Aldene Park is located on Alpine just North of State st, with the dam.

Reports of something glowing in the woods area of the park.

Unknown what the cause of the glow is, but it is reported to be glowing very brightly.

Rockford Scanner™: Officials Release Information On A Serious Accident, One Person Flown From The Scene




ON APRIL 26, 2019 AT 2:52 PM THE OGLE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, BYRON POLICE DEPARTMENT, BYRON FIRE DEPARTMENT, BYRON AMBULANCE, AND THE OREGON AMBULANCE RESPONDED TO A TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT WITH INJURIES IN THE 7,000 BLOCK N. RT. 2.

A SILVER CHEVROLET 3500 TRUCK WAS SOUTH BOUND ON RT. 2 WHEN A GREY CHEVROLET 1500 TRAVELLING NORTH BOUND CROSSED OVER INTO THE SOUTH BOUND LANE.

THE CHEVROLET 3500 DROVE ONTO THE SHOULDER ATTEMPTING TO AVOID THE CHEVROLET 1500 WHEN THE TWO TRUCKS STRUCK HEAD ON. BOTH TRUCKS SLID OVER INTO THE NORTH BOUND LANE COMING TO A STOP.

THE DRIVER OF THE CHEVROLET 1500 JON R. STANLEY, AGE 57, OF DIXON WAS EXTRICATED FROM HIS TRUCK BY THE BYRON FIRE DEPARTMENT AND THEN FLOWN TO ST. ANTHONY’S HOSPITAL BY LIFE FLIGHT HELICOPTER WITH MULTIPLE INJURIES.

THE DRIVER OF THE CHEVROLET 3500 HOWARD C. BARH JR., AGE 64, OF GALENA WAS TRANSPORTED TO SWEDISH AMERICAN HOSPITAL BY THE OREGON AMBULANCE WITH MINOR INJURIES.

THE ACCIDENT REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION.

Join us for the Lifescape 4th of July Classic on July 4th, 2019 (Formerly known as the MELD/YSN Classic). This race is in memory of Joe Marino and his contributions to Rockford’s 4th of July celebration and to our community.

Lifescape 4th of July Classic Run and Walk is a race for the ages! Join us in celebrating our great nation through this wonderful event. This is a race for everyone whether you are an experienced runner looking to win prize money, this is your first race, or you are just looking for a fun event to do with your family. You have the choice of running an 8k, a 2-mile, or participating in the 1-mile family fun walk. Early bird race registration fees are available through April! All racers will receive race swag, including finisher medals, an all you can eat pancake breakfast, and a stylish one of a kind race T-shirt made by Rockford Art Deli.

This year we are adding a post-race breakfast and celebration at the Rockford City Market Pavilion. The breakfast is included in the run/walk registrations.

Non-runners/walkers and race spectators are welcome to join the post-race fun, but if they would like breakfast it will be $5 at the event. The after party will include live music from the local band Long-shots, awards, refreshments, and breakfast!

The post-race breakfast and celebration starts immediately following the 8k Run. Hot Cakes on the Go will be providing all you can eat pancakes. We will also have breakfast sausage and refreshments.

All race proceeds go toward supporting Lifescape’s services and programs.

  • Walkers (for safety please start back of runners)
  • No dogs, baby/infant strollers, or in-line skates

 

1 Mile Family Fun Walk

  • Baby/infant strollers permitted

 

Age group awards:

Overall, Top Masters, and 1st, 2nd, 3rd place finishers in 8k and 2 Mile Run in each age division.

 

Age division breakdown: 8 & under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+

 

Prize Money will be awardee to the top 3 overall male and female 8k and 2 mile finishers

  • 8k- 1st $225, 2nd $150, 3rd $75
  • 2 Mile- 1st $100, 2nd $50, 3rd $25

 

Prize money will be awarded to the top Masters Male and Female finishers (40 years and older)

Sources are reporting a vehicle on fire at a local movie theater.

It happened around 9 pm at Showplace 16 on E State st.

A vehicle is reported to be on fire on the West end of the parking lot.

Unknown if the vehicle is occupied.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, a fire investigator is on scene.

Recent snowfalls have caused some havoc in the area tonight.

Several reports of power outages, transformers on fire, trees down and gas leaks. All over the area tonight.

COMED is reporting approx. 1000 customers are currently without power. Estimated restore times are various times.

Reports of a major gas leak near Cunningham.
Unknown if it is weather related though.

NWS is reporting approx. 4 inches of heavy snow has fallen in our area.

Several sources are reporting a structure fire in Machesney Park earlier today.

It happened in the 600 block of Maple ave. Reports of everyone was able to escape from the residence.  At the time of writing this, it was unknown how bad the fire was. No other information at this time.

Sources are reporting an accident that involves approx. 10 vehicles.

It happened on I-90 near Rock Cut State park.

Injuries were being reported. We been told one of the victims might have life threatening injuries. But not yet confirmed.

At the time of writing this, we been told it was affecting both directions of traffic.

Rockford Scanner™: Suspect Uses A Sawed Off Shotgun To Commit An Armed Robbery




Sources are reporting an armed robbery on the East side. 

It happened in the area of Kishwaukee and 10th ave. 

Suspect is a black male, 19 years old, 6’1, 160 lbs, wearing light colored clothing and armed with a sawed off shotgun. Last seen Eastbound on 10th ave.
