Rockford Scanner™: Scene on the East Side, Possible Dangerous Situation

Sources are reporting a scene on the East side.

It happened around 10 pm near Harrison and Mulford.

Sources said numerous police are working a scene near this location.

Reports of an armed suspect in the area and police have a perimeter setup in the area.  No info on the suspect description at this time.

Still developing. We been told this is a very dangerous and active scene, so please avoid the area for awhile

Rockford Scanner™: Chief OShea Visit Local Early Childhood Center

SOLID FOUNDATION: Chief Dan O’Shea, visited the kids at RPS 205’s Summerdale Early Childhood Center, read to them, and handed out a few high-fives too!

He also joined local lawmakers and the Winnebago County State’s Attorney to talk about a new report from Fight Crime: Invest in Kids- Illinois.

The goal is to invest in early childhood education to start kids off on a path to success since children who participate in a high-quality preschool are less likely to turn to crime later in life.

A local politician is reporting they were getting a prescription filled at the CVS at E State and Alpine last night, when shots rang out nearby.

No reports of injuries.

Possible damage to property.

No suspect information.

Rockford Fire Department brought out a truck and City of Rockford Government Mayor Tom McNamara also spent the afternoon with us! We played basketball, slurped snow cones, and above all, we had meaningful conversations with those we serve. Thank you for stopping out at this great event today!

Contraband in a Penal Institution

On 04/21/19 at approximately 5 p.m., Deputies arrested Daniel Diehl, age 23 of Polo, for an outstanding Ogle County warrant.

Diehl was subsequently charged with Bringing Contraband into a Penal Institution.

Diehl was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.


Rockford Scanner™: Man arrested for 7th offense OWI

Janesville resident arrested for 7th offense OWI.

On 4/23/19 at 1:56 AM Officer Danielson stopped Mark A. Matteson in the area of W. Delevan Drive and S. Academy Street for a traffic violation.

Matteson displayed signs impairment, and failed standardized field sobriety testing. Matteson was arrested for operating while intoxicated 7th offense, and held at the Rock County Jail.

Rockford Scanner™: Shots Fired, Possibly Occupied Vehicle That Is Fully Engulfed

Sources are reporting a fully engulfed vehicle in Rockford

It happened around 12:30 am this morning in the area of the 1100 block of Sherman ave.

Sources said several gunshots were fired just prior to the fire, the shots were believed to be coming from inside the vehicle.

They believed the vehicle is occupied with at least one person.

The vehicle is fully engulfed in the roadway.

It is described as a Black 2007 utility that comes back to an address on Park Terrace.
