Sources are reporting a structure fire in Rockford.

It happened around 11:40 pm tonight in the 2600 block of Bluffside Drive.

Reports of smoke coming from the structure.

Several units from the RFD are en route.

Update: Confirmed fire.  RFD laying a booster line to battle the fire. Homeowner was grilling inside the garage, when he took off. He came back to see flames and smoke coming from the structure.

NWS issues a River Flood Warning:

Flood Warning for
The Rock River At Afton.
* At  4:00 PM Sunday the stage was 9.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to near flood stage after
midnight tomorrow.
* Impact...At 9.0 feet...Minor erosional flood damge occurs to
lowland and agricultural land adjacent to the river in the Afton
and Janesville areas.

River forecasts are available for some but not all river gaging
locations. The 7 day river forecast takes into account past
precipitation, soil moisture conditions, and predicted
precipitation for the basin. Precipitation is for the next 24 hours
in the future from April through September and for 48 hours in the
future from October through March.

Rockford Scanner™: Update On Snowfall Amounts & Weather




Here are some snowfall reports across northern IL through around 4pm. A pocket of 6-8″+ fell from roughly central DeKalb and northern Kane counties into portions of McHenry county.

All precipitation will likely exit east of the area by midnight. Dry conditions are then expected through at least Monday morning. Some light rain could fall across the north half of the area late Monday afternoon into Monday evening, and far northeast Illinois overnight Monday into Tuesday.

Rockford Scanner™: Scene At A S Beloit Bar




UPDATE: Sources told us after we posted this, there is a half dressed woman being disorderly and fighting the police.

Cynthia Thompson said: She had her baby with her, we called the police it was awful. She was in a gray car with smashed out windows


Sources are reporting a scene in S. Beloit.

Sources are reporting: “At the Macktown bar/lounge in S. Beloit, there are  5 cop cars and 1 ambulance. Also a car with smashed windows.”

Police have yet to release any information on this.

No other information was provided.

Sources are reporting a serious accident scene near S. Beloit

It happened around 2:05 am near Willowbrook and Stateline.

Reports of a serious accident near this location and injuries were being reported.  Reports of multiple people are unconscious.

This sounds like a pretty bad accident, so you want to avoid the area for several hours.

Rockford Scanner™: Victim Shot 3 Times In A Bar, Still Developing




Update from BPD:

We are announcing the arrest of Daniel T. Blackshear, 26, of Indianapolis, on a charge of attempted first-degree intentional homicide in connection to the April 14 shooting at Rooney’s Pub, 65 Portland Ave.

We appreciate the assistance of the U.S. Marshals who took Blackshear into custody yesterday in Indiana.

Our investigation identified Blackshear as the individual who shot a  Beloit man just after 1 a.m. April 14.


A 36-year-old Beloit man is in stable condition at a local hospital after he was shot several times inside of Rooney’s Pub, 65 Portland Ave., at 1:02 a.m. today.

We are actively investigating the circumstances that led up to the shooting. Detectives are working to identify the shooter, who fled the area in a dark-colored SUV.

We believe the shooter was acquainted with the victim and is not an ongoing risk to the community. The identity of the victim is not being released at this time.

Shooting victim at a Beloit Bar

Around 1 am several emergency personnel were dispatched to Rooney’s Pub & Grub at 65 Portland Ave, Beloit, Wi, for a shooting victim.

The victim was reportedly shot inside the bar. The victim was shot 3 times. Unknown on the victims condition.

Suspect is a black male, 25-30, 5’7″-5’8″, thin build,  dark blue zipped up hoodie, skinny jeans.

No other information at this time.

Rockford Scanner™: Shooting In Ogle County, Suspect Last Seen in Rockford




Sources are reporting a shooting in Ogle County earlier tonight.

Suspect is in the Rockford area.

Suspect is Ethan J. Eklund,  white male, 21 yrs, 6’2, 180 lbs, brown hair, blue eyes. Armed with a gun and is wanted for a shooting in Ogle County and resisting police.

He was last seen in the 2200 12th ave in a stolen black vehicle with a plate number of AG11279

Last known addresses are on Indian Heights Drive in Oregon and also Keefe St and also Marshall st in Rockford.
