It happened around 9:45 pm tonight in the 2800 block of Collins st in Rockford.

Heavy flames and smoke were showing from the vacant house.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Update from the RPD:


Sources are reporting a standoff in Rockford.

It is currently happening at Maple and Horsman.

Numerous police, command center, SWAT vehicle, etc… are all on scene.

This is still developing, avoid the area. This is a very dangerous situation.

Sources told us this started around 11:30 am when police were trying to serve a warrant at 719 Maple st.

RPD has yet to release information.

Rockford Scanner™: Man Burglarizes A Rockford Church, RPD Searching For The Suspect




KNOW HIM? On Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at approximately 2:00 p.m., Rockford Police officers responded to Washington Park Christian Church (801 Concord Avenue) in reference to a possible burglary. Upon arrival, officers saw damage to the front door where the suspect gained entry. Inside the church, officers located several electronic items strewn around, damage to instruments and church furniture.

Detectives from the Rockford Police Department recovered surveillance video of the incident involving a black male suspect, medium build, between 20-25 years old. Anyone with information on the suspect should contact Rockford Police at 815-966-2900 or leave an anonymous tip with Rockford Area CrimeStoppers at 815-968-7867.

Rockford Scanner™: Rockford Man Arrested For Kidnapping & Sexual Assault




Forensic Evidence Leads to Sex Assault Arrest

Rockford, Ill. On Monday, July 25, 2011, patrol officers from the Rockford Police Department responded to an apartment in the 300 block of North Church Street in reference to a sexual assault investigation.

When they arrived, officers learned that an adult female victim had been sexually assaulted by a male acquaintance whom she knew only by a nickname.

The suspect was described as a black male in his mid to late 20’s 5’7″ tall with a medium build. At the time of the incident, detectives conducted a follow-up investigation, but were never able to identify the suspect.

In April 2018, a possible suspect was identified following the result of a forensic evidence recovered during the investigation. Detectives from the Rockford Police Department’s Sensitive Crimes Unit followed up on the lead and were able to identify the suspect as Antoine Hill.

The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed the results of the investigation and authorized charges against Hill. Hill was taken into custody on Wednesday, March 27, 2019.

Hill was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail on a $500,000 bond. The charges against Hill are merely accusations. He is considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Rockford Scanner™: Robbery At A Local Walmart, Police Investigating




Sources are reporting an armed robbery at a local Walmart.

It happened around 3:30 am this morning at the Walmart on Northridge. That is the one near Forest Hills and E Riverside.

Reports of an armed robbery with a gun at the Walmart.

Reports of a man pulled a gun on an employee and also slashed a tire of the security vehicle.

The store went on lockdown. After the store went on lockdown, no customers were being let inside the building and the suspect robbed a customer in the parking lot.

Note: The man was reported to have been walking around the store since approx. 8:30 pm, approx. 7 hours before the incident took place.  Store security has great camera footage of the suspect, but has not released the footage.

Rockford Police confirmed an armed robbery, but did not provide any details.

Rockford Scanner™: Suspect Crashes As He Flees Police




On 04-02-19 at 3:34 a.m., a Janesville Police Officer attempted to stop a vehicle at N. Franklin and Centerway, for an equipment violation. The vehicle fled from the officer at a high rate of speed and crashed into a group of trees at Franklin/Mineral Pt. after traveling only 0.1 mile. The driver fled on foot from the vehicle and was apprehended in the 400 block of N. Jackson.

The driver was identified as Reginald Cole. Cole was treated and released from a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries that he sustained in the accident. Cole was arrested for Fleeing an Officer, OWI 1st Offense, Obstructing, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and several traffic charges. Cole was held at the Rock County Jail pending his initial court appearance.
