Rockford Scanner™: Traffic Alert on E State St

On Monday, April 1, 2019, the City of Rockford Public Works Department is closing westbound traffic on E State Street at Buckley Drive.

Crews will be making necessary traffic signal repairs. The closure will begin approximately 9:00 AM and is expected to be
completed by 4:00pm.

Traffic control and a detour will be in place however, Citizens are encouraged to find an alternate route during this time.

Sources are reporting an aggravated assault with a firearm in Rockford.

It happened near the Dominoes on N Main in Rockford.

Suspect is in a Gold Buick Sentry with a plate similar to AU96934.

Suspect is a white male, 28, 5’7, medium build, goatee, wearing blue jeans and a camo jacket. Armed with a shotgun.

Last seen westbound on Pierce

UPDATE: Police located the suspect.

Sources are reporting a scene on the West side.

It happened on Auburn st.

A man fled from a traffic stop and tried to break into an occupied residence on Auburn st..

Sounds like the police may have captured the suspect, but not yet confirmed.
No other information at this time.


Rockford Scanner™: Several Emergency Personnel Working A Scene in Loves Park

Sources are reporting a scene in Loves Park.

It happened on N Alpine, at the Busters Bar & Grill  at 7113 N Alpine Rd

Several police officers, an ambulance and LPFD are all on scene.

They are transporting at least one victim via the ambulance.

It is not yet clear on what exactly happened.

From our friends at Beloit Scanner: Beloit police witnessed a bad accident on the Hendricks Memorial Bridge around 11:30 pm.

A pregnant female is injured. Unknown on the severity of the injuries.

Numerous emergency personnel are on scene and have the area blocked off.

Please avoid the area.

Sources are reporting a vehicle that fled from police.

It happened around 10:45 pm in the 3220 block of Glenwood.

Suspect vehicle is a Black GMC Yukon with a plate similar to  AC22013.

Rockford Scanner™: Police Arrest Two Men After Robbing Subway

On 3/28/19 at 10:30 PM, Officers were dispatched to a report of an armed robbery at the Subway restaurant at 1929 Center Av. A single male dressed in all black entered the store, displayed a firearm and demanded money. He fled with an undisclosed amount of currency.

An Officer responding to this report was traveling south on S Jackson St when he observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed north on S Jackson St.

The vehicle made several turns in an attempt to get away but was located in a driveway in the 1000 Block of Jerome Av. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as Tyler Kjell, was found to exactly match the clothing description of the robbery suspect.

A search of the vehicle located a backpack containing a realistic looking BB gun and the cash from the robbery.

Kjell was arrested for Armed Robbery and the driver of the vehicle, Kortae Valadez, was arrested for Party To Armed Robbery.

A third male passenger of the vehicle was released without charges pending further investigation.

Kjell was also arrested for felony bail jumping as he was out on bond for previously robbing the Dollar General on W Court St last September.

Rockford Scanner™: Man Caught On A RING Camera Trying To Break Into Multiple Houses in Rockford


Sources are reporting this man attempted to break into a residence near Sedgeway drive.  This man allegedly tried to break into multiple houses in the area last night around 3 am. He arrived in a White SUV type of vehicle around 2:27 am. Attempted to break into multiple houses. Then left approx. 3:27 am.
