The City of Beloit Police Department’s Violent Crimes Interdiction Team has arrested a 37-year-old Beloit woman in connection with the vehicle that was stolen from the 800 block of Johnson Street on Tuesday, Feb. 19.

The woman, Dawn M. Martinez, was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 28, in the 1300 block of Portland Avenue for misdemeanor operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent, felony bail jumping, and misdemeanor bail jumping.

The vehicle, a 2016 Nissan Sentra, had a 10-year-old child with special needs in the vehicle when it was stolen. The vehicle was later found in the 100 block of Eighth Street and the child was safely located a minute later in the 1900 block of Fairfax Avenue.
