TURKEY TERRORISM: Wild Turkey Terrorizing Citizens In Loves Park

Several sources have reported over the last few weeks some turkeys terrorizing citizens and traffic in Loves Park.

Some turkeys have been literally attacking vehicles and chasing them in the area of Harlem and Forest Hills recently.

RS fan Tim sent us this photo he took of a turkey terrorizing traffic near this intersection.

Damage has been reported to some vehicles. No reports of injuries to citizens.

Unknown why the turkeys are doing this.

Officials have told us that the turkeys see their reflection on the vehicles, and the turkey thinks it is another turkey and that is why the turkeys are aggressive towards vehicles.

If you have to travel in this area, please use caution.

WINTER STORM WARNING

Rockford Scanner™: Winter Storm Warning

Note: We do editorials. Send us your editorial, we will post it.

Prepare For Deadly Cold, by Tanker

This week Rockford is forecast to have temperatures down to -26F, with 16MPH wind. This kind of cold could potentially result in some deaths. Be prepared.

Arrange your affairs so you won’t have to leave the house during the cold snap. Before Tuesday, get whatever provisions you’ll need to survive three days. Have your phones and other essential devices fully charged.

Get your vehicles fully fueled. If your battery is old or weak, better get it replaced before Tuesday.

Many water pipes will freeze solid. Make sure you let your taps run a trickle, and that warm air is circulating near walls and in cabinets where pipes run.

Plan for what you will do if, God forbid, there is a power failure during the cold snap. If you can, muster a source of emergency heat, like a kerosene heater, know how to operate it safely, and make sure you get fuel for it ahead of time. Have blankets, coats, hats, gloves, etc. ready. Think ahead about who you can contact for help, and how, if needed.

During this cold period, Rockford’s car thieves will be on full patrol, looking for unattended running cars to steal. If you really need to warm up your car, you had better be sitting in it. Don’t leave it running unattended.

Plan ahead and stay safe!

Rockford Scanner™: Caught On Video: Police Arresting A Person in Rockford, Possible Police Chase

Email your tips and photo to us at RockfordScanner@Gmail.com

Sources sent us this video.  It happened around 2 am in the area of Alpine and 16th. WCSO said it was a traffic stop.  RPD said it was a backup assist.  RFD said it  was a medical call. So it is not yet clear exactly what happened.

Witnesses said: “They were going south on Alpine. The car TRIED to turn west on 16th ave and went wide and got stuck.

One cop got out with their gun drawn. The black male driver got out, followed the police directions. Then the cop got him on his stomach, got one hand cuffed then tried the next, either got it or not.
The officer started to throw some long hard punches to the drivers back while handcuffed or semi handcuffed
Then the cop was yelling at the female passenger, then back up came and got the female without going to the ground cuffed
Then there was 3-4 squads on Alpine and Newburg near Papa johns…
Then they all come down to the traffic stop 7 squads, fire truck and a ambulance.
The medical was for the male driver, he was cuffed and walked into the Ambulance….I am guessing from the knee to the back, or the 8-10 hard police blows to the back/neck”
