NWS:
Several bouts of severe winter weather are likely over the next week. First up, the period of dangerously cold weather tonight through Friday night. The most severe cold will be later tonight through mid Friday morning when wind chills of 20 to 30 below zero are likely.

A fast moving weather system will then bring light snow accumulations Friday afternoon and evening, which due to the cold temps could make for a very difficult commute.

Next, we are watching a storm system which will likely bring accumulating snow to the region Sunday night into Monday. Significant snowfall amounts of 6″+ are possible in at least portions of the area.

Finally, early indications are that another bout of dangerous cold is coming the middle of next week. In fact, it is possible that the region could see some of the coldest temperatures observed in years, that may even surpass the brutal cold snap of early January 2014.
