A wintry mix of rain, freezing rain and snow is expected to spread across the area beginning Tuesday morning through much of Tuesday night. Temperatures will rise into the low to mid 30s on Tuesday.
However, given the recent cold, surfaces will likely remain below freezing for a period even after air temperatures rise above freezing. Freezing rain accumulations of up to 0.1” are possible across much of the area, especially leading up to the Tuesday evening commute.
Additionally, across northern portions of the area, precipitation may remain primarily in the form of wet snow. Be prepared for potentially slippery conditions and travel impacts area wide Tuesday afternoon and evening.
