Due to the current weather conditions the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department has temporarily implemented the traffic accident plan.

The Sheriff’s Department is asking anyone that is involved in any property damage accidents and the vehicles are driveable to please exchange information with the other parties and go to the front desk at the Winnebago County Justice Center at 650 W. State Street between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM any day of the week.

Rockford Scanner™: Forest Hills Closed Down, Due To Bad Accident

Sources are reporting a very bad accident on Forest Hills near the gum factory.  Several emergency personnel are on scene. Police have Forest Hills blocked off. Injuries are reported, but unknown on the severity of the injuries.

There are numerous accidents all over the area. Literally to many to post.  There is ice under the snow, making the roadways very slippery.

Do not drive today, unless you absolutely have too. Officials have warned citizens to stay home, because the roads are very slippery.

Rockford Scanner™: Rollover Accident in Loves Park

Sources are reporting a rollover accident with injuries in Loves Park.

It happened approx. 10 am this morning in front of the Starbucks on E Riverside, near Forest Hills.

A vehicle rolled over near location and landed in the parking lot in front of the Starbucks.

Unknown on the severity of the injuries.

Rockford Scanner™: One Person Just Shot in Rockford, Still Developing

UPDATE: Two shooting victims arrived at a local ER via self transport.

From RPD: On Saturday, January 12th, at around 3:40 AM, two Rockford residents were the victims of Aggravated Battery with a handgun while at a party in the 1500 block of West St. The victims had friends transport them to a local hospital for treatment of what turned out to be non-life-threatening injuries. This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information concerning this incident is encouraged to contact the Rockford Police Department or Crime Stoppers – 815 963 STOP (7867).


Sources are reporting a shooting victim in Rockford.

A victim has been shot in the 1500 block of West st in Rockford.

No suspect information, due to the encryption.

We been told the victim was shot at least once.

Rockford Scanner™: Several Emergency personnel Battling A House Fire in Rockford

Just before 2 am this morning, emergency personnel were on scene of a house fire in Rockford.

It happened in the area of 1824 Hulin st (Near Levings Lake area)

Initial reports said it was a car on fire, but when the Rockford Fire Department arrived on scene they confirmed the house was on fire.

Heavy smoke in the area.  Theres report of a possible house fire on Rose (few blocks away)  RFD is on scene, but believe it might be from the smoke from the house fire on Hulin st.

Rockford Scanner™: Rollover Accident, Person Ejected From The Vehicle

UPDATE: This is a fatal accident, one confirmed person dead.

Sources are reporting a vehicle has crashed into a field, in Rockford.

There is a vehicle in the field near Elmwood and Owen Center, Just North of this location. Approx. 300-400 feet into the field.

The vehicle has rolled over and at least one person was ejected from the vehicle.

Sounds like possible life threatening injuries, not confirmed.

Avoid the area for awhile.
