Sources are reporting another vehicle flees from police in Rockford.

This one happened around 11:10 pm, witnesses said a Silver Mitsubishi vehicle was fleeing from police near 7th ave and 8th st.

Heavy set bald Hispanic male driver. Last seen headed westbound.

Vehicle is registered to an address on 8th st.

Rockford Scanner™: Another Business In Rockford Was Robbed, Police Investigating

On 1-8-19 at approximately 8:24pm officers responded to 290 N Mulford Rd. (Subway) for an Armed Robbery to the business. The store clerk advised she was approached by two suspects who demanded money.

One of the suspects approached her from behind implying he had a weapon. The suspects ordered the clerk to open the register at which point they took an undetermined amount of USC. Both suspects then fled on foot.

Suspect #1 was described as a black male, 5’3″ tall, stocky build, wearing a black jacket and pants and had a scarf or mask over his face.

Suspect #2 was described as an unknown race female, 6’0″ tall, thin build, wearing a black hooded sweathshirt with a scarf or mask over her face. No one was injured during the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Rockford Police or Winnebago County Crime Stoppers.


Sources are reporting another business in Rockford was robbed.

Sources are reporting several police officers were working a scene at the Subway in the 200 block of N Mulford around 8:30 pm.

Only suspect information is 2 males that fled the scene on foot.

Around 5:45 pm tonight, the Rockford Fire Department is battling an apartment fire in the 1200 block of S Court st in Rockford.

There are 6 apartments in the complex.

A transformer blew and caught the building on fire.

A resident is refusing to evacuate, because she can not locate her cat.

“The victim was simply protecting himself from 3 guys and a female that ran up on him in the back yard. The victim got hit in the head 4 times with a bat. Before he was able to protect himself. ”


One person was shot in the face, another person shot in the temple and at least one person beaten with a baseball bat.

WCSO said this was a simple battery call

Another person involved said: The girl that got a pellet in her face came to my house with her bf with a baseball bat and 2 other guys to beat up a guy that was at my house. Her boyfriend hit my friend in the head 4 times with a bat then tried to run them over, so yes in self defense. He shot them with a pellet gun


Sources are reporting a victim was beaten with a bat in Machesney Park.

The victim was at an address in the 700 block of Kingsley Drive in Machesney Park.

No suspect information, due to the encryption.

Unknown if it is related, but there is another victim on Ramona Terrace as well.

From the victims mother said: “This started when the alleged victim was stalking and stopped at the girls house that was shot .. for unknown reasons started a confrontation with the true victim. After the bf had asked him to stay away.. a gun was displayed and knowing the man is a felon a fight occured. Witness have said the man was in the street shooting people”

Aggravated Battery w/ a Firearm: On Monday, January 7, 2019, at approximately midnight, Rockford Police officers responded to the 3100 block of Lapey Street in reference to a possible shooting. Upon arrival, officers met with the 66-year-old male victim who sustained a minor injury from gunfire striking his house several times. The victim did not seek medical treatment. Rockford Scanner™: Hit And Run To A Pedestrian, Pedestrian Laying In The Roadway

On Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at approximately 7:40 a.m., Rockford Police officers responded to the 700 block of Whitman Street for reports of a serious hit-and-run traffic crash involving a vehicle and pedestrian.

Preliminary investigations revealed that an 18-year-old male Rockford resident was crossing Whitman Street when he was struck by a westbound vehicle. The vehicle, described as a large, older tan SUV, fled the scene. The pedestrian was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Rockford Police Department Traffic Accident Reconstruction team was deployed to the scene. The investigation is ongoing and no further details are available at this time.

Whitman Street between Ridge and Winnebago will remain blocked for the next several hours.


Pedestrian Hit By A Vehicle In Rockford.

It happened around 7:45 am this morning in the area of Whitman and Haskell .

A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle near this location and is laying in the roadway.

Injuries were being reported, unknown on the severity of the injuries at the time of writing this.

UPDATE: Life threatening injuries.  The victim is a male, possibly a child/teen, via sources. The victim has severe head wounds.

The vehicle fled the scene, no suspect description
