Around 3:30 PM today several emergency personnel were on scene of the vehicle fire in Rockford.

It happened in the area of Fairview and Highcrest

Rockford Scanner™: Woman Arrested, She Was Allegedly Street Racing That Caused A Fatal Accident

FATAL CRASH ARREST: A Rockford woman is now in custody following a fatal crash. On January 30, 2018, shortly after 9:30 p.m., Rockford Police officers responded to the intersection of Kishwaukee Street and Sandy Hollow Road for single car accident. The victim, 24-year-old Jateyrrica Scott, later died at a local hospital because of the injuries she sustained in the accident.

The Rockford Police Department’s Traffic Unit conducted a follow up investigation into the fatal accident. It was determined an additional vehicle was involved in the incident, driven by 26-year-old Destiny Pendleton. The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed the case, authorized the below listed charges and a warrant was obtained.

Destiny Pendleton, 26, Rockford: Reckless Homicide, Aggravated DUI Resulting in Death, Aggravated Street Racing

Pendleton was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail. The charges against Pendleton are merely accusations. She is considered innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Janesville Police Announce New Police Officers Hired
The Janesville Police Department announces the hiring of two police officers that started on January 2, 2019. The new officers are as follows.

Officer Victoria L. Dawson is from Sun Prairie, WI. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology. She will attend the Blackhawk Technical College police academy in January. Officer Dawson most recently worked for the Department of Children and Families as a Claims Adjudicator as well as a private nanny.

Officer Drew J. Mussey is from Janesville, WI. He graduated from University of Illinois Normal in August 2018 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. He graduated from the Blackhawk Technical College police academy in December 2018. Officer Mussey most recently worked for the City of Janesville Police Department as an Intern.
