WANTED MAN: A Rockford man is wanted in connection to two armed robberies within the past week. On Tuesday, December 11, 2018 shortly before 7:00 p.m., Rockford Police officers responded to Boost Mobile (3201 Auburn Street) in reference to an armed robbery.

Officers learned the male suspect, armed with a handgun, robbed the business of money and fled. At approximately 7:20 p.m., Rockford Police officers were called to S&H Tobacco (2744 11th Street) for a report of an armed robbery. Officers learned the suspect entered the business, pointed a gun at an employee and demanded money. The suspect then fled the business with the money. No one was hurt in either incident.

Detectives from the Rockford Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit conducted a follow-up investigation into the incidents. Subsequently, the suspect was identified as 24-year-old Janathan Turner. The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed the cases, authorized charges, and a warrant was obtained for Turner on December 13, 2018.

Janathan Turner, 24, Rockford: Armed Robbery (2 Counts)
