NWS: An early-season winter storm will affect the Midwest late in the weekend. Precipitation may begin as early as late Saturday night, with a rain-snow mix across northwest and north central Illinois and rain elsewhere.
Precipitation may change to all snow from west to east Sunday night, with the potential for several inches of accumulation before ending early Monday morning.
Strong gusty north winds will also develop. At this time, it appears that areas northwest of the I-55 corridor across northern Illinois have the greatest potential for significant accumulation.
However, the exact track of the storm remains uncertain, so remain alert for further updates
