Sources were reporting a large police presence on the East side.

It happened in the area of Charles and 16th st.

Police confirmed they recovered a stolen vehicle.

The suspects fled from the vehicle on foot, and several officers were in the area searching for the suspects. No suspect description, due to the encryption.  Still developing

UPDATE:

On Friday November 9, 2018 at 9:14pm, Rockford Officers responded to W. State St & Johnston Ave in reference to shots fired and a car crash.  Through further investigation, Officers learned that the vehicle that crashed was being chased by a dark colored 2-door Ford Mustang.  Gunfire was believed to be exchanged between both vehicles.  A male passenger from the crashed car sustained minor injuries.  It was unclear if his injuries occurred from the gunfire or car crash.  A utility pole was damaged at the scene of the crash.  Barricades were placed to close the curb lane in the area of W. State St & Day Ave until ComEd is able to repair the damaged pole.

This is an on-going investigation.  Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to contact the Rockford Police Department at (815) 966-2900 or Rockford Area Crime Stoppers (815) 963-7867.


W State near the scene is shut down. Avoid the area! From Way-Lo all the way down to Johnston.   There was a chase, shots were fired during the chase.  A vehicle crashed into 2 utility poles.


Around 9:20 pm tonight, emergency personnel were responding to a shooting victim, vehicle on fire at the shooting scene.

It happened in the 200 block of N Johnston

Reports of at least one person shot.  Sounds like it is life threatening. The police took the victim via their squad car to the nearby hospital.

A pole is snapped in half near State and Day.

No suspect information, due to the police encryption

Sources are saying this was a  chase with shots fired that ended up  with a shooting victim.  We can not confirm this, due to the encryption.

UPDATE: Sources tell us this is the alleged suspect. Police caught him nearby.

Sources are reporting a suspect used a baseball bat and broke out several windows of some restaurants on Auburn st around 7 pm

Sources said the windows at Beef a roo and Taco bell on Auburn  had their windows busted out.

No suspect information, due to the encryption.

Rockford Scanner®: Slippery Road Conditions Causing Many Accidents Including A pileup Just Now

Around 6:15  pm tonight several emergency personnel were responding to several accident scenes.  They said the roads have once again became slick out and are causing several accidents.

The worst of the accidents  right now, is on I-39 in the SB lanes near MM 117.  There is a large pileup of vehicles that have just crashed near this area.  Unknown on injuries.  Still developing.

Dekalb: South Annie Glidden Road is closed from Fairview north due to to slick conditions until the road can be salted. Please avoid the area.

“The body that was found, was found at Rick’s ribs off of Riverside and Pleasant Drive.patrons of the establishment noticed a gentleman hunched over in his vehicle. After knocking on the window and getting no response the patrons opened the door and tried to shake the gentleman. With no response Rick the owner of the restaurant and one of the patrons Joe Sanchez pulled the gentleman out of the vehicle and he was laid upon A quilt on the ground. One of the female patrons who was in the medical field started chest compressions as the police were called by the establishment’s cashier. Once the police were on site after about a  very short wait, they took over chest compressions and also started more advanced resuscitation tactics. The gentleman was taken by ambulance to Rockford Memorial Hospital.”


Sources reporting a dead body in Loves Park

Early this afternoon, sources were reporting a dead body near E Riverside and Pleasant ave.

Reports of a dead man near the SW part of this intersection.

Emergency personnel were trying to revive the man by doing CPR.

It is not yet known, if they were able to resuscitate the victim.

Unknown on the cause.

No other information, due to the encryption.

Several sources reporting an auto accident with injuries in Rockford.

It happened this afternoon near S Main and Morgan st.

There was an auto accident. A vehicle involved crashed into the nearby building. Injuries were reported, not yet known on the severity of the injuries.

The cause of the accident is under investigation

Sources are reporting multiple stabbing victims in Boone County.

It happened around 9:30 pm last night in the 100 block of Appleton in Boone County.  At least two people were stabbed at this location.

A third stabbing victim was in the 400 block of W Menominee in Boone County.

Unknown if these scenes are related.

Unknown on the victims conditions.

Sources reporting a man has been arrested after burglarizing a Rockford business.

Police were able to catch a man burglarizing the Jasmine Pantry in the 2600 block of Kilburn, as he fled the store around 3:40 am.

He tried to run from police, but the police were in hot pursuit and caught him in the area of Collins and Kilburn.

RPD said the man was Anthony Craig and was charged with Burglary, Criminal Damage to Property, and Resisting a Police Officer.

Shots Fired During A Home Invasion, 3 Year Old Victim Inside The Residence

On 11/7/2018 at around 11:12 PM, officers from the Rockford Police Department responded to a residence, in the 3200 block of Orleans Avenue, in regards to a Home Invasion.

Officers met with the occupants of the home, a 37 year old female and her two children, who were 17 and 3 years of age.

They reported that 2 or 3 suspects, who were armed with at least one firearm, forced their way into the home. During the ensuing confrontation one of the suspects fired several gunshots inside of the residence and all suspects fled the scene.

No injuries were reported during this incident. The suspects were described as black males, wearing all dark clothing, between 18-21 years of age, between 5’08”-6’01” tall and having thin builds.

Rockford Scanner®: First Snowfall Brings A Lot Of Accidents This Morning

RPD: Eastbound Harrison Avenue between 20th Street and Ohio Parkway is shutdown due to slick conditions and numerous accidents. Use caution at the North Second/Spring Creek interchanges as that area is also extremely slick. Drive slowly and carefully this morning!


We all knew it was coming.  The first snow fall, brings a lot of accidents.

Several accidents are being reported all over the area.

The worst ones are on the bypass  and also business 20, I-39 and also on I-90. Other roads that are being reported that are very slick: Caledonia road, N Second, Perryville, Harrison, Mulford, Bridge st, N Main, RT 75, Pretty much every main road is slick this morning via RS fan reports.

Several cars in the ditches, some have rolled over.  Extrication was needed at a one of the scenes,  at Montague and 20.

Injuries have been reported, but I have yet to hear any life threatening injuries. Sounds like most are non life threatening injuries.
