Just before 8:30 pm, the Rockford Fore Department were battling a vacant house fire.

Flames were coming from a vacant house.

RFD arrived on scene and confirmed flames were showing and were laying a booster line to battle the fire.

It happened 2900 block of  S 4th st , see map

UPDATE: This is a confirmed fatal accident. A box truck hit a woman approx. 53 years old. The woman has passed away. RPD are investigating. 11th st will be closed for several hours.

On Thursday, November 1, 2018 shortly after 7:30 p.m., Rockford Police officers responded to the 2900 block of 11th Street for an accident involving a pedestrian and a box truck. The 53-year-old female pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased. Her identity is not being released at this time. The driver of the truck stayed on scene and was not injured.

The accident is still under investigation, and traffic reconstructionists from the Rockford Police Department have been called in to process the scene. Motorists are urged to avoid the area for the next several hours. No further details are available at this time.

Reports are saying there is a serious accident in the 2900 block of 11th st.

Sources are reporting the injuries are pretty bad, possible fatal. (Not yet confirmed)

It happened in the  500 block of Rebecca.

Unknown on the severity of the injuries.

Suspect is fighting with police,  no other information

Sources reporting a fire/explosion at a business near Kingston.

It happened this morning at US Chrome at 305 Herbert, in Kingston.

Initial reports are saying someone was using a plasma cutter to cut opena tank, when something inside the tank ignited and exploded and caught the business on fire.

No reports of injuries.  Several area fire departments helped battle the fire.

Around 2:30 pm today the Rockford Fire Department were responding to another structure fire call on the East side.

There are reports of a house on fire near the Behr Recycling place off of Kishwaukee and Behr. Reports of a large amount of smoke coming from a house just North of this location.

1002 Kishwaukee, there is an open burning complain that might be related to this.

It happened in the area of Horton and Reed

Initial reports are saying a detached garage is on fire.

“I live near the 3300 block of E.State. I was outdoors after dark on Wed. I saw a green object go across the sky from south to north. It wasn’t a comet or meteor as they are not green. it was moving too fast for a weather balloon as there was no wind. I googled it and the explanation I got was that it was either a UFO or Russian spy satellite. I am curious if anybody else seen it.”

“AROUND 1220 AM THIS MORNING NORTH PARK FIRE WAS TONED FOR A SEMI FIRE ON I90 AT MILE MARKER 13, TRAILER WAS FULLY INVOLVED WITH FIRST ARRIVING UNIT ON SCENE. CHERRY VALLEY FIRE AND BOONE 2 FIRE WERE CALLED FOR TANKERS TO THE SCENE. THE SCENE ON I90 WAS JUST NORTH OF ROTE ROAD.”

 







Rockford Scanner™: Man Shot Multiple Times, Police Arrest Alleged Suspect

On 10-31-18 shortly after 2:30 p.m. the Janesville Police Department responded to a shooting in the 1500 block of Holiday Dr. The first officer on scene located a 32 year old male resident of Janesville that had multiple gunshot wounds to his legs, hand, and upper torso.

Janesville Police Officers located a vehicle near the intersection of Alden Rd. and Blackbridge Rd. that was operated by a 22 year old male subject. The male was taken into custody without incident, and a handgun was recovered.

The victim was transported to Mercy Hospital and underwent surgery for his wounds. At the time of this press release his wounds don’t appear to be life threatening.

The suspect and the victim know each other, and this incident appears to be the result of an ongoing feud between the two.
The suspect was charged and is being held at the Rock County Jail awaiting court proceedings.

  1. “Police present on Lori dr in Rockford, A large crowd was in street yelling, police still have road blocked and are walking up and down the block.”
  2. “Hi a few minutes before 9 pm tonight I witnessed at least 2 people that were ran over by a car. There was at least 30 people up my block In a huge crowd fighting and a car just plowed right into people I saw one person get hit from the back of the car and they kept going a ran them over with both driver side tires then ran them over again when the were leaving the scene. It was the worst thing I have ever seen and I am still upset I called 911 asap then I went in my house so I dont know what happened to any of the people that were hit. This happened in Beloit on Dewy ave”
