RPD Releases Information About a Murder Investigation on Rockford’s Northeast Side.

Sources reporting the alleged suspect is a white male with a white beard. Police have yet to provide suspect information.


MURDER INVESTIGATION: On Sunday, October 28, 2018, shortly before 9:00 p.m., Rockford Police officers were called to a residence in the 3500 block of Fawnridge Drive in reference to a fight. Upon arrival, officers located the resident, a 61-year-old male, suffering from stab wounds. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene. His name is not being released at this time.

Detectives are conducting a follow-up investigation to the murder. No further details are available at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call Rockford Police Department at 815-966-2900.

It happened on 18th ave between 6th and 7th street

A vehicle crashed into a utility pole near this location.

Someone said there was a police chase in the area, unknown if it is related to this.  Admin Will was on scene and he said it appeared there was no driver on scene that he could tell, so unknown if the driver fled or transported.

Search Warrant/Drug Arrest

On Friday, October 26, 2018 Officers of the Janesville Police Department street crimes unit and patrol division served a search warrant at 431 Madison St. Janesville, Wisconsin. The target of the search warrant was Janmarion Lofton AKA Miami.

Surveillance was conducted prior to the warrant service. Lofton and his girlfriend, Annelisa Martell was observed leaving in a vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted and they were taken into custody.

Martell had 1.9g of suspected cocaine and 16.7g of suspected Crack Cocaine on her. Lofton had a Suboxone strip on him and cash. The warrant at the house was served, drug paraphernalia, $1083 is US currency, and several electronic devices were seized.

Based on statements Lofton and Martell received the following charges.
