Rockford Scanner™: Shots Fired, Police Arrest One For A Weapon And Another For Marijuana



 

SHOTS FIRED ARRESTS: On Saturday, October 6, 2018 shortly after midnight, Rockford Police officers responded to the 1900 block of South 5th Street in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle in the area with two male occupants and a female occupant.

The vehicle was searched, and officers located a loaded firearm. Officers also learned the female passenger was wanted on a warrant, and found her to be in possession of a substance believed to be cannabis

. All three suspects were taken into custody. The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s office reviewed the case and authorized the below listed charges.

Aldridge Nolan Jr., 20, Rockford: Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, No FOID

Aurelious Friar, 18, Rockford: Possession of Cannabis, Failure to Appear (Warrant)

The 20-year-old male driver was released with a citation. Nolan and Friar were lodged in the Winnebago County Jail. The charges against them are merely accusations. Both Nolan and Friar are considered innocent unless proven guilty in court.
