Aggravated Domestic Battery

On 10/7/2018 at approximately 1650 hours Ogle County deputies, along with Leaf River EMS were dispatched to 5779 West Townline Road in reference to a Domestic Problem.

After an investigation it was learned that John Oltmanns, age 58 of Leaf River, had struck his wife, Julie Oltmanns with his vehicle.

John Oltmanns was arrested for Aggravated Domestic Battery and transported to the jail and held in lieu of bond.

Julie was transported for minor injuries.

 

 







Rockford Scanner™: One Person Arrested After A Serious Accident Near Byron

On October 6th, 2018, Deputies, along with Byron Fire/EMS personnel, responded to the 12000 block of Kennedy Hill Rd for a one vehicle accident.

Both occupants were transported by Byron Ambulance to RMH for treatment of serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

At the hospital, the driver of the vehicle, Mitchell A. Wessels, 33 of Sterling, was charged with Driving Under the Influence and Driving While License Suspended, and cited for Operating Uninsured Vehicle and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident. He was released in IBond.

The passenger, Lucas W. Hopkins, 37, of Rockford, was cited for Failure to Wear Seatbelt and given a civil citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Thunderstorms will spread northward across north central Illinois and parts of northeast Illinois this evening. Some of these will have heavy rain, especially over north central Illinois where a Flash Flood Watch is in effect.

Temperatures will slowly rise later tonight with a warm day ahead on Monday (highs in the mid 80s!)
