Rockford Scanner™: Shots Fired, Local School Football Game Shut Down Early Due To It



 

 

 

Several sources are reporting shots were fired near the Auburn High School area. 

There was a football game going on at the time the shots were fired. 

The shots fired did not happen at the school, but very close nearby. 

All the football players laid down on the field, for safety.

Unknown on injuries. 

They reported to have shut the game down early, due to this incident. 

RPD confirms a weapons violation. School district has yet to make any information public. 

 

 








Rockford Scanner™: Local Police K-9 Saves A Suicidal Teenagers Life Earlier Today Near Rockton



 

 

 

On August 24, 2018 at 8:49 am Deputies were dispatched to the 14000 block of South Bluff Rd for a 16 year old suicidal subject who had last been seen walking in this area.

Deputy Metzler and K9 Cliff responded to the call. Cliff located a track which led into the Norman Jensen Forest Preserve. After a mile long track, Deputy Metzler and Cliff located the suicidal subject.

The juvenile suffered minor self-inflicted wounds.

Rockton Fire administered first aid and transported the juvenile for medical treatment.

Around 5 pm today several emergency personnel were responding to a rollover accident.

It happened in the area of Alpine and the bypass.

Reports of a vehicle that was involved in an auto accident and has rolled over.

Three vehicles are involved.

Possible extrication is needed.

Injuries were reported.

Expect long traffic delays in the area

Suspects beat the victim during a robbery and carjacking in Rockford. 

It happened on Auburn ct around 12:30 pm

The victim is bleeding from the head.  (Possibly shot)

The suspects stole the victims vehicle and then fled the scene. 

The vehicle is described as a White Lincoln SUV

If you see a White Lincoln SUV, call the police

A couple of accidents this morning causing traffic delays. 

The first one is a semi that overturned his trailer on I-90 near Riverside. 

The second was a rollover accident near I-39 and the bypass. 

Unknown on injuries.  

The accidents are causing traffic delays, so avoid these areas. 

 








Rockford Scanner™: It was once again a violent night in Rockford last night.  At least two shooting victims, several shots fired and several robberies



 

It was once again a violent night in Rockford area last night. 

At least two shooting victims, several shots fired and several robberies. 

A shooting victim at Mercy Hospital. Unknown if it happened at the hospital or the victim was brought there.
The shooting victim was at the Mercy Hospital around 12:40 am. 

Another shooting victim in the 2400 block of N Bell School rd 

Numerous shots fired incidents: 

  • Main and Whitman
  • Westgate Parkway 
  • Cameron ave
  • Mcfarland rd
  • Crosby st
  • Huffman blvd
  • Acorn st
  • N Main 
  •  5th ave

Robberies at the following locations: 

  • Sun Valley Terrace
  • Westgate Parkway
  • Mcfarland
  • N Court 
  • Vincent ave

No suspect information on any of these violent crimes, due to the encryption.

It is safe to assume the suspects got away and are out committing more violent crimes……


 

 

Update: After posting this, the RPD did release the following:
On Thursday, August 23rd, 2018 at approximately 7:21 p.m. Rockford Police responded to the area of 1600 5th Ave. for several calls of shots fired. Upon arrival Officers discovered an outbuilding to a residence which had been struck by gunfire while citizens were nearby. No one was struck by gunfire and no injuries were reported.
