Rockford Scanner™: Gunfire Exchanged During An Armed Robbery On The East Side



UPDATE:  The victim involved was an off duty police officer and her acquaintance. Suspects fired their gun at them during the robbery, then the off duty officer returned fire at the suspect. The suspect was able to get away. The business and a vehicle were struck by gunfire. No reports of injuries.

CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Detectives from RPD are asking for help identifying the suspect in Tuesday night's armed robbery attempt involving an off-duty Winnebago County Sheriff's deputy. It happened at approximately 10:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of N. Bell School Road on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. Just before 11 pm tonight, several emergency personnel were responding to an armed robbery with shots fired. 

Sources are reporting gunfire was exchanged during an armed robbery in Rockford. 

It happened to a citizen near a business (Cucina Di Rosa) near Bell School on the East side. 

The victim shot back at the suspect, during the robbery 

Suspect is described as a Male black, 5’6 and thin build, dark clothing. 

Last seen near Bell School on foot. 

 








Rockford Scanner™: Several Shots Fired Scenes In The Last Few Hours



 

 

 

Sources are reporting several scenes where shots were fired by suspects withing the last few hours. 

  • Dawn ave around 8:30 pm
  • Summit st just before 9 pm 
  • Napoleon st just before 9 pmUnknown on injuries or suspect information.  
    RPD has confirmed “weapon violations” at these locations. 

On 8/21/18 at around 8:50 P.M. Rockford Police responded to the 700 block of Napoleon St for calls of shots fired in the area. Upon arrival police discovered that a home and a vehicle had been struck by gunfire. No one was struck by the gunfire and no injuries were reported.

Sources are reporting a serious accident in Boone County.

It happened around 1 pm today in the area of Newburg and Ispen.

Reports of a vehicle that had several children in it, was involved in the accident.

Unknown on the severity of the injuries at the time of posting this.

Several emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene.

Just before 3 pm today, emergency personnel were responding to a rollover accident. 

It is reported to be in the Eastbound lanes of the bypass, near 11th st. 

There is a truck that rolled over near this intersection and injuries were being reported. 

Several emergency personnel are en route. Still developing.

It happened in the 400 block of 18th ave in Rockford. 

The vehicle is a 2003 F-150 supercrew cab, no topper, maroon in color and the Plate # 2142729

 Around 10 am this morning several emergency personnel were responding to an accident with injuries. 

It happened at the intersection of E Riverside and Mulford. 

Three vehicles are reported to be involved. 

Injuries were being reported, an ambulance is en route. 

This accident is causing traffic delays, avoid the area

On 08/22/18 between 9am to about 2pm the south bound lanes of Main St will be closed between Hodges Run and Chestnut due to scheduled construction.

If you are traveling south bound on Main St please follow the detour signs as follows:
left (east bound) on Hodges Run
right (south bound) on 2nd St
right (west bound) on Chestnut St
left (south bound) on Main St

North bound traffic on Main St will not be affected.

 

 








Rockford Scanner™: RPD Reporting 2 Violent Crimes Last Night

ARMED ROBBERY: On Monday, August 21 shortly before 8 p.m., Rockford Police officers responded to an armed robbery to a citizen. Upon arrival, officers learned that two men were walking in the 1100 block of Ferguson Street when a red, four door car pulled up alongside them. The driver, armed with a handgun, and a backseat passenger got out and confronted the two men. One victim ran away, the other was robbed. No one was hurt. The driver is described as a black male with dreadlocks in his early twenties, approximately 5’7”, 150 lbs, last seen wearing blue jeans and no shirt, but a black shirt wrapped around his face. The passenger is described as a black male in his early twenties, 5’11”, 150 lbs, wearing a gray jacket and gold skull cap. A surveillance photo of the suspect vehicle is posted


Rockford Police are reporting 2 violent crimes that happened last night.

The first incident happened in the 1100 block of Ferguson just before 8 pm.  RPD reporting an “In Progress Person: Shooting/Stabbing/Armed Robbery”

The second incident happened near 1132 Jackson st in Rockford around 8:20 pm. RPD is reporting an “In Progress: Home Invasion, Burglary”

No suspects description, due to the encryption.

It is safe to assume the suspects probably fled the scene and are still roaming the streets of Rockford to commit more crimes.

No other information at this time.
