Four People Charged with Felonies in Boone County for Bringing Contraband into a Penal Institution

ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 17, 2018 THE BELVIDERE/BOONE COUNTY METRO NARCOTICS UNIT CONCLUDED A THREE MONTH DRUG INVESTIGATION WITH THE ARREST OF FOUR SUBJECTS FOR SMUGGLING NARCOTICS INTO A PENAL INSTITUTION.

INVESTIGATORS WITH THE BELVIDERE/BOONE COUNTY METRO NARCOTICS UNIT RECEIVED INFORMATION THAT INMATES IN THE BOONE COUNTY JAIL WERE CONSPIRING WITH OUTSIDE INDIVIDUALS TO DELIVER NARCOTICS INTO THE BOONE COUNTY JAIL. DURING THE INVESTIGATION THE METRO NARCOTICS UNIT SEIZED CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES.

OVER THE COURSE OF THE THREE MONTH INVESTIGATON THE METRO NARCOTIC UNIT ARRESTED THE FOLLOWING INDIVIDUALS:



SHANE F. EICHHORN, AGE 39 (INMATE BOONE COUNTY JAIL),
ASHLEE N. RIENER, AGE 34 (MCHENRY, IL), JENNIFER L. BREWER, AGE 42, (GENOA, IL), AND CHARGED LARRY G. LEWIS, AGE 41, (ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS) WITH ONE COUNT EACH OF BRINGING CONTRABAND INTO A PENAL INSTITUTION (CLASS 2 FELONY).

EICHHORN, RIENER, AND BREWER ARE LODGED INTO THE BOONE COUNTY JAIL. LEWIS REMAINS IN THE CUSTODY OF THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS. BOND HAS BEEN SET FOR EICHHORN, BREWER, AND LEWIS AT $100,000/10%. BOND WAS SET FOR RIENER AT $150,000/10%.

A CLASS 2 FELONY IS PUNISHABLE BY 3-7 YEARS IN THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS.

Around 1 pm today several emergency personnel were responding to an accident with injuries. 

It happened on E State st near the college.  

Injuries were reported. Unknown on the severity of the injuries. 

A vehicle was t-boned. 

Westbound lanes of traffic is effected, avoid the area.

Rockford Scanner™: Man Stealing A Keg From Rockford Country Club

BURGLARY SUSPECT: On Friday, August 17, 2018 at approximately 4 a.m, Rockford Police responded to Rockford Country Club, 2500 Oxford Street, in reference to a burglary. Prior to officers’ arrival, a security guard confronted the suspect who set off the alarm and was trying to drag a beer keg out of the building. The suspect also fled before officers arrived. Upon further investigation, several bottles of alcohol were determined to be missing or destroyed.

Sources are reporting the Rockford Police are investigating a couple of armed robberies 

The first one is near the area on Preston and Johnston. 

Second one is near the area of the 2700 block of Arthur ave. 

Sources said these are possibly related. 

Third robbery happened near the 3200 block of Auburn st

RPD has yet to release information on these.
