Rockford Scanner™: 2 Arrested For Meth, After A Traffic Stop Near The Belvidere Oasis



 

 

 

On Friday, August 3, 2018, a Boone County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Deputy conducted a traffic stop at the Belvidere Oasis, 2500 Pearl Street, resulting in the arrest of two men on felony drug charges.

Investigators with the Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit were called to assist. During the investigation approximately 18 grams of methamphetamine was seized.

Shaun F. Scardina, age 42, of Rockford, Illinois was charged with one (1) count of Unlawful Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine (class X felony), and one (1) count of Unlawful Possession of a Methamphetamine (Class 1 felony). Scardina remains in the custody of the Boone County Jail with no bond.

Joshua D. Hobson, age 31, of Peru, Illinois was charged with one (1) count of Unlawful Possession of a Methamphetamine (Class 1 felony). Hobson remains in the custody of the Boone County Jail with no bond.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible. A class X felony is punishable by 6-30 years in the Department of Corrections. A class 1 felony is punishable by 4-15 years in the Department of Corrections.
