Rockford Scanner™: Suspect Flees From police, Then Crashes in Rockford



Several sources reporting a scene on N Main. 

On Tuesday, July 17, 2018 officers of the Rockford Police Department executed an arrest warrant for Rashund Marks at 1300 Revell Ave.

During the course of the arrest, Marks fled from officers and eventually crashed in the area of 900 N. Main St. 

Marks was taken into custody and no injuries were reported.

This is an on going investigation.

Update:  Shortly after 4 pm residents were allowed to go back to their homes.

 

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office is advising everyone to avoid the area of Caledonia due to a gas leak. Both eastbound and westbound lanes of traffic on Illinois Rte. 173 have been shut down at Caledonia Road and at Wyman School Road. All residences have been checked and many residents have been evacuated. If you are in the Village or in close proximity and need assistance evacuating, please contact the Sheriff’s Office at 815-544-2144.

Should residents need a place to stay while the situation is handled, a temporary relief station has been established at the District 3 Fire Station in Poplar Grove. The American Red Cross is providing services to those residents who have been directly impacted. Please check back for updates or information on when the situation is clear.

On 07/16/18 at approximately 8:11 am Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident in the 14200 block of East Illinois Rt 72.

An investigation into the accident revealed a westbound GMC driven by Stephon Pratt, age 22, of Loves Park failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and traveled off the north edge of the roadway.

The vehicle traveled through the ditch after which it overturned. Pratt, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Deputies were assisted by Lynn-Scott-Rock EMS, Stillman EMS, New Milford EMS, and IDOT. The accident remains under investigation.

Sources are reporting an armed robbery with shots fired in Rockford. 

Reports of a suspect that robbed a citizen near the 2100 block of Parmele on the East side. 

Suspect is a black male around 17 years old, 5’7, 150 lbs with long braids. Wearing a dark shirt and blue jeans. Last seen on foot in the area.
