Rockford Scanner™: Loves Park Residents Get New Garbage Carts



 

 

 

 Beginning on Friday, July 6th, residents of the City of Loves Park will notice something new with curbside garbage pick-up.

The City of Loves Park and Rock River Disposal have agreed to provide all residential customers with new garbage carts. Each resident, over the coming weeks, will be provided a 96 gallon garbage cart and a 65 gallon recycle cart.

These carts are being provided free of charge to be used by residents for curbside pickup.

Rockford Scanner™: Several Emergency Personnel Responding To A Possible Apartment Fire



 

 

Just before 10:30 pm tonight several units from the Rockford Fire Department were responding to a possible apartment fire. 

It happened in the area of 3516 Harney ct
That is just south of State and Fairview

Reports of a fire inside one of the apartments inside the complex.

Rockford Scanner™: Accident With Injuries, Emergency Personnel En ROute



 

 

 

Just after 10 pm tonight emergency personnel were responding to the area of Mulford and E State st. 

There is reports of an auto accident near this intersection. 

Injuries are believed to be non life threatening. 

At least one person was reporting injuries. 

Avoid the intersection, or expect possible traffic delays. 

 

 








Rockford Scanner™: Rockford Fire Department Battling A House Fire



 

 

 

This afternoon the Rockford Fire Department were battling a house fire on the East side.  It happened near 3000 block of  17th st. 

Workers were repairing the roof, when the attic area caught on fire. They tried to extinguish the fire with a garden hose. 

Rockford Fire Department is on scene battling the fire. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation

 

 








Rockford Scanner™: Suspect Crash While Fleeing From A Robbery, In Rockford



 

Around 11 am this morning several officers were on scene of a home invasion/burglary that happened in Rockford. 

It happened in the area of N Day on Rockford’s West side. 

Sources said a witness called police when they saw people robbing a house. 

The suspects crashed while fleeing. Two suspects were caught.  Another two fled the scene and still are on the loose. No suspect information, due to the encryption. 

They had a police perimeter setup and police K-9 dogs trying to track the suspects. 

 

 

 








Rockford Scanner™: Possible Fatal Motorcycle Accident



 

 

On July 1, 2018 at 8:59pm South Beloit and Beloit Police Departments were dispatched to Shirland Avenue and 8th Street for a traffic crash. Upon arrival Officers observed a black Chevrolet Silverado and a silver Honda motorcycle in the street. Citizens were performing CPR on a male who was identified as the driver of the motorcycle. Officers took over CPR until Beloit Fire Department personnel arrived on scene. The male was transported to Beloit Memorial Hospital where he later died from injuries. The Rock County Medical Examiners Officer responded to the hospital.

A witness advised that the motorcycle was traveling east bound on Shirland Avenue at a high rate of speed and struck the Chevrolet Silverado in the rear. The female driver of the Silverado stated she was traveling east on Shirland Avenue after having completed a left hand turn from 8th Street. She then felt an impact from the rear and stopped.

The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Unit and the Illinois State Police are assisting with this investigation. Initial indications show that high speed caused this collision.

This case is still under investigation and no further information will be released at this time.

A motorcycle crashed near this location around 9 PM.  

At least one person is critically injured, possible fatal.
