Anderson Japanese Gardens is asking for the public’s help in their effort to restore and repair up to $16,100 in damages they sustained from the recent heavy rains and flooding. They are asking for donations to help the cost for repairs as everything is funded through donations as a not-for-profit corporation.
Below is a snippet from their page and a link to go to for donations:
The Garden sustained significant damage as a result of the recent heavy rain events. The creek rose to unprecedented levels and runoff water from neighboring streets rushed through the heart of the Garden.
The results were washed-out pathways, large deposits of sand, stone and debris throughout the Garden, shorted-out electrical systems, the loss of a 160 year old oak tree and two electric guest transportation carts under three feet of water.
What We Need
TOTAL NEED = $16,100

Temperatures on Sunday will be not quite as hot, though it will still be very warm and uncomfortably humid.
A well known and respected person in the community contacted us and wanted us to post this, warning citizens on a possible scam artist. He wanted to remain anonymous, because of his political position in the area. But felt it was needed to help warn citizens of this business activities because he was allegedly scammed by this company recently. And contacted us and asked if we would post this.
We first want to say this is not from Rockford Scanner, but from a well known source in the community that asked us to post this to help citizens use their own personal decisions to use this business, or to not too.
And what is posted below is a personal experience review from this person, via the 1st amendment.
They sent us this, and asked if we could post it:
“Fraud alert. These guys r scamming people and stealing their stuff. They got me a couple years back and now they changed there name from dago fast to this. They got me for $10,000.00. Please don’t let any one else get scammed. They also stole my mower they were supposed to be fixing. Please post this, so everyone can be aware and hopefully not go through what I had to go through with this company.”
