...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM CDT SUNDAY THROUGH
SUNDAY MORNING...

The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of north central Illinois,
  including the following areas, La Salle, Lee, Ogle, and
  Winnebago.

* From 1 AM CDT Sunday through Sunday morning

* Another round of heavy rain producing thunderstorms will move
  into the Interstate 39 corridor overnight into early Sunday
  morning. These storms have the potential to produce localized
  flash flooding as many locations across this area received one
  and half to three inches of rain yesterday into this morning.

* Areas that received flash flooding last night had over 2 inches
  of rain in an hour that quickly inundated some roadways. Use
  extra caution as this rain will start in some locations at
  night.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.


Rockford Scanner™: Police Investigating Another Home Invasion In Rockford, Suspect Beats Up A Female Then Flees Scene




 

 

 

Home invasion – 2300 Kilburn Ave

At approximately 6:30 a.m on June 9, 2018 officers from the Rockford Police Department responded to an apartment building in the 2300 block of Kilburn Ave, to investigate a home invasion complaint.

Upon arrival, officers determined that the suspect had been invited to the apartment by one of the tenant’s friends. An argument ensued, and the tenant was able to eventually convince the suspect to leave. The suspect returned a short time later, and forced his way into the apartment. The suspect then battered the female tenant, and left.

The suspect was described as a black male, in his late 20’s, 5’11”, 220 pounds.

Reports of a large fuel spill near the AAR. 

An employee is injured. Unknown on the severity of the injuries. 

Several emergency personnel are en route to the airport.

Rockford Fire Department and NICOR Gas are on scene of a ruptured gas line on fire on Rockford’s SW side.

It happened near 312 Blackhawk Avenue.

A ruptured natural gas line on fire.  

Unconfirmed reports are saying lightning was the possible cause of this rupture. 

The fire is contained to the gas line and a metal fence and the ground.  No injuries have been reported.

Avoid the area.

The driver, Daniel Sundell helped push the stranded vehicles out of the flooded roadway.

He saw random strangers, stranded in the flooded waters.
And used his truck to help the victims out of the flooded waters.

Around 2:30 am this morning several emergency personnel were responding to a shooting victim call at a Rockford Hotel.

It happened in the area of 653 Clark at the Extended Stay America

Details are minimal.

Reports of at least one shooting victim in the foyer of the business.

No other information at this time.

Check back later for updates.


UPDATE: The clerk will not let the victim into the business.

Sounds like it happened near this location and went to the hotel to seek help.

Southwestern Winnebago County in north central Illinois…

* Until 230 AM CDT

* At 205 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near German
Valley, or 7 miles north of Mount Morris, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD…Half dollar size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Damage to vehicles is expected.

* This severe thunderstorm will be near,
Byron around 220 AM CDT.

Other locations impacted by this severe thunderstorm include Adeline
and Leaf River.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Prepare immediately for large hail and deadly cloud to ground
lightning. Seek shelter inside a well-built structure. Stay away from
windows.
