On Thursday, May 17, 2018, The Boone County Sheriff’s Department arrested a subject on multiple burglary and theft charges.
Adam Jackson, 44 years old, of Rockford Illinois, was charged with three counts of Burglary (Class 2 Felony) and one count of Theft (Class 3 Felony). Jackson remains in the Boone County Jail on a $150,000.00 (10%) Bond.
Jackson is believed to be responsible for three burglaries to the Farm & Fleet Store, 6674 Logan Avenue, Belvidere. The break-ins occurred on January 9th, January 26th and February 5th, 2018.
On Thursday, May 17, 2018, Boone County Sheriff’s Detectives arrested Jackson at his residence located in the 300 block of Bremer Street, Rockford. Detectives recovered stolen property, including a motorcycle reported stolen from Rockford, at Jackson’s residence. The investigation continues and additional charges are possible.
A Class 2 Felony is punishable by Three (3) to Seven (7) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. A Class 3 Felony is punishable by Two (2) to Five (5) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Members of the public are reminded that these are only charges and are not proof of the defendant’s guilt. Every defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which it is the State’s burden to prove his or her guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
On Thursday, April 19, 2018, the Rockford Police Department received information regarding the sexual assault of a juvenile at a residence in the 900 block of Sanford Avenue.
Detectives from the Sensitive Crimes Unit conducted a follow-up investigation into the report. The investigation was later reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. As a result, charges were authorized and a warrant was obtained for the suspect, Juan Meza.
On Thursday, May 17, 2018 at about 4:30 p.m. officers and detectives from the Rockford Police Department located Meza and took him into custody without incident. Meza was later lodged in the Winnebago County Jail where he is being held in lieu of bond. A photo of Meza is attached.

The charges against Juan Meza are merely accusations and not evidence of his guilt. As with defendants in all criminal cases he is considered innocent unless proven guilty in court.
