When they arrived officers learned that the suspect, later identified as 31-year-old Jermarcus Brady, had already fled the scene.
Officers located a 33-year-old female, who had a previous domestic relationship with Brady, and three juveniles inside the residence. It was later learned that Brady had forced his way into the residence and fired several rounds from a shotgun in the direction of the female victim. The female victim was not struck by gunfire, however she suffered minor injuries from being battered during the incident. She was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
Detectives from the Domestic Violence Unit conducted a follow-up investigation into the incident. The investigation was then reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. As a result, charges were authorized and a warrant was obtained for Jermarcus Brady for the listed charges. Brady has not been arrested on the warrant and is currently at large.
