On Monday, December 4, 2017, shortly before 8:00 p.m. patrol officers and detectives from the Rockford Police Department responded to 515 Seminary Street in reference to a call for shots fired.
When they arrived, officers learned that a subject had fired a round from a handgun through the wall of one apartment into another apartment on the 2nd floor.
Officers were able to locate the suspect, later identified as 25-year-old Davarius Neville, outside of the building and took him into custody without incident. A handgun was recovered during the investigation. There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.
Detectives conducted a follow-up investigation into the incident. The investigation was later reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. As a result the listed charges were authorized against Neville, who was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail. A photo of Neville is attached.

The charges against Neville are merely accusations and not evidence of his guilt. As with defendants in all criminal cases Neville is considered innocent unless proven guilty in court.
