Stink Bugs Are Back!
Many of us have noticed these creepy looking bugs inside our houses in the last few years.
They were accidentally imported into the USA in the late 90’s from Asia.
44 states are now confirmed to have these stink bugs including Illinois and the Rockford area
They are coming inside our houses because it is starting to get cold and they are just looking for some warmth. They come in through any cracks you may have in your house. Doors, windows, etc… They are seeking warmth.
The official name for the stink bugs is the Brown marmorated stink bugs
They are brown in color, 6 legs, 2 antennas, and are shaped like a triangle or shield
They are called “stink bug” because when they are disturbed or crushed, they release a foul odor
They are reported to not harm humans or pets. But they are destructive to the agricultural areas.
They do not have any known predators, which is why they have been able to flourish
When they enter your house, you can usually find them around warm areas such as lamps.
Allegedly how to get rid of them: Prepare a soapy solution for killing stink bugs. Choose a straight-sided 1/2- or 1-gallon container. Fill it one-fourth full of water mixed with 1 teaspoon of liquid soap or detergent. When disturbed, stink bugs tend to drop downwards.
