Press Release From the RPD: On 08/30/2017 around 8pm, Rockford Police were sent to the area of the 300 block of Underwood Street after receiving complaints of a large crowd gathering there. As officers approached the crowd, a black male began to run from the scene. After a brief foot chase the suspect was taken into custody in the 100 block of School Street. He was identified as 25 year old Rockford resident, Nathan Jefferson. Officers learned that Jefferson was wanted on a Boone County failure to appear warrant for a traffic offenses. A quantity of marijuana was also located. Jefferson was charged with the following offenses:
Possession of Marijuana over 10 grams but less than 100 grams
Boone County Warrant
Jefferson was transported to the Winnebago County Jail and lodged. A photo is attached.
The charges against Jefferson are merely accusations. He is considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
