On Thursday, September 7, 2017, a cooperative investigation by the City of Belvidere Code Enforcement, Boone County Animal Control, Belvidere Police Detectives and the Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit resulted in the arrest of a Belvidere resident on felony drug charges.
On Thursday, September 7, 2017, Belvidere Police Detectives, assisted by City of Belvidere Code Enforcement and Boone County Animal Control, executed an administrative search warrant, in reference to code enforcement violations, at a residence in the 900 block of W. Locust St., Belvidere, Illinois.
The Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit and Belvidere Detectives executed an additional search warrant at the same residence. Approximately (30) Cannabis plants, hydroponic grow equipment, scales, and U.S. Currency were seized.
Anthony C. Caccamise, age 41 (Belvidere) was charged with one count of Unlawful Production of Cannabis Sativa Plants (class 3 felony). Caccamise remains in the custody of the Boone County Jail with no bond.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible. A class 3 felony is punishable by 2-5 years in the Department of Corrections.
