Car vs. bicycle accident
On September 19, 2017 at 11:46 p.m. Roscoe Police were dispatched to a bicycle vs. vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of Highway 251 and Elevator Rd.
The bicyclist is an 18-year-old male who was traveling westbound on Elevator Rd. The vehicle was driven by a 25-year-old male who was traveling southbound on Highway 251.
The 18-year-old male was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured and is cooperating with the Roscoe Police Department.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
This accident is still under investigation.
All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Several fans have contacted us in regards to another serious accident.
It happened just before midnight in Roscoe. It happened on N Second near Hononegah.
A bicyclist was hit by a vehicle. Sounds like the victim has pretty bad head injuries according to fans. The extent of the injuries are not yet known, but are believed to be serious via fans.
The cause of the accident is under investigation. The police have the intersection blocked off, so please avoid the area or expect delays
