Over the past month, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Police Narcotics Task Force and the Rockford Police Department Narcotics Unit partnered and began an investigation into the sale of Cocaine and Heroin involving both jurisdictions. That investigation culminated with the arrest of Jaynell J. Ross on August 22, 2017.
McHenry County Officers along with Rockford Police Narcotics Officers located Jaynell Ross in a parking lot in the 4100 block of Laramie Lane in Rockford. Cocaine, Heroin and a Handgun were recovered during the arrest.
The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed the investigation and authorized the following charges against:
Arrested: Jaynell J. Ross Age 37 Rockford Resident
Charges: Possession with Intent to Deliver 1 to 15 grams of Heroin
Possession with Intent to Deliver 1 to 15 grams of Cocaine Unlawful Use of Weapons by a Felon Class 3 Felony
Two separate counts of Deliver of Heroin 1 to 15 grams within 1000 feet of Public Housing
Bond: NONE (must be set by Judge)
Ross was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail in lieu of his charges and no bond.
The charges against Ross are merely accusations and not evidence of his guilt. As with defendants in all criminal cases Ross is considered innocent unless proven guilty in court.
