On Sunday, July 9, 2017 at approximately 2:30 a.m., Rockford Police officers responded to the 3500 block of Applewood Lane in reference to numerous citizen complaints of a loud party. Upon arrival, officers observed a large crowd at the residence. As officers began to disperse the crowd, they noticed a large group of individuals involved in an altercation in front of the residence. Officers observed an adult female, later identified as 29-year-old Tasheka D. Jennings of Rockford, pointing a handgun at the crowd and then at the officers who were in very close proximity to Jennings. Officers were able to physically subdue Jennings and take her into custody. Officers later determined the firearm was reported stolen out of Winnebago County.
The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office authorized the following charges for:
ARRESTED: Tasheka D. Jennings, 29, Rockford, Ill.
CHARGES: Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon, Possession of Stolen Firearm, No FOID, Aggravated Assault to a Peace Officer, Resisting Arrest, and Obstruction of Justice
Jennings was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail. The homeowner, 30-year-old Dustin Larosa, was issued a City NTA for Offensive Use of Property.
