On Thursday, July 6, 2017 at approximately 2:30 a.m., officers from the Rockford Police Department responded to the Mobil gas station, 453 North Springfield Avenue in reference to a burglary to the business. When they arrived officers learned that an unknown suspect had entered the business and removed an undisclosed amount of currency and cigarettes from behind the counter. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.
Rockford Police detectives conducted a follow-up investigation into the incident which was then reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. As a result, charges were authorized and a warrant was obtained for the suspect, 20-year-old Martavian Marks, for burglary. Marks is also wanted on an unrelated warrant for aggravated domestic battery.

CHARGES: Burglary, BOND: $50,000/10%
Aggravated Domestic Battery, BOND: $10,000/10%
Marks has yet to be taken into custody and the Rockford Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating him.
