On Saturday July 22, 2017 The Boone County Sheriff’s Department arrested two Rockford residents on Burglary and Criminal Damage to Property charges.
James Gallagher, 23 years old, of Rockford Illinois, was charged with one count of Burglary (Class 2 Felony). One count of Criminal Damage to Property (Class 2 Felony). Gallagher remains in the Boone County Jail with $50,000.00 (10%) Bond.
George Shaw, 37 years old of Rockford Illinois, was charged with one count of Burglary (Class 2 Felony). One count of Criminal Damage to Property (Class 2 Felony). Shaw remains in the Boone County Jail with $75,000.00 (10%) Bond.
On Saturday morning Boone County Sheriff’s Deputies along with the Belvidere Police Department responded to a call of suspicious persons in the 2000 block of Hawkey Dr. located in the Belford Industrial park.
A Boone County Deputy attempted to stop the two suspects as they fled the Industrial Park in a vehicle. After the suspects crashed into a fence attempting to leave the Industrial Park they continued to flee on foot.
Both Suspects were subsequently taken into custody after an assisting Belvidere Police department K9 team located both suspects hiding in the area.
Recovered from the scene were numerous items associated with the Burglary including tools and copper products.
A Class 2 Felony is punishable by Three (3) to Seven (7) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
