Chicago Tribune: Police fatally shot a murder suspect Friday afternoon in Lyons after the suspect opened fire on officers who were pursuing him, according to Illinois State Police.
Authorities Friday located a man wanted in connection with homicide that occurred in Sycamore. A woman was found dead at the Illinois Department of Human Services building, 1629 Afton Road. Multiple police agencies were helping to follow the suspect’s vehicle around 5:55 p.m. Friday, when the suspect fired shots at responding officers in the area of Ogden and Joliet avenues in southwest suburban Lyons.
Police returned fire and the suspect was fatally wounded at the intersection, marked by a number of restaurants and businesses.
There were two suspects the police were seeking, Antonio Juarez, 44, and Antonio Dias. They were last seen in a black Chrysler and a maroon Ford F-150 pickup.
The shooting remains under investigation by Illinois State Police. State Police declined to identify the deceased suspect pending notification of his next of kin.
No other details were immediately released.
