On Sunday, April 16, 2017, shortly after 7:00 a.m., patrol officers from the Rockford Police Department responded to a residence in the 2300 block of Forest View Road in reference to a domestic related incident involving a gun. When they arrived officers located the suspect, later identified as 25-year-old Jamison O’Bryan, exiting the residence. When Jamison saw the officers he fled back into the house. After several minutes of negotiations officers were able to convince O’Bryan to exit the residence and surrender.
Upon further investigation officers were able to determine that O’Bryan had come to the residence and confronted his girlfriend while armed with a handgun. During the incident O’Bryan allegedly threatened his girlfriend and three juveniles, who were present inside the residence, with the gun. A handgun was recovered during the investigation. O’Bryan was arrested and lodged in the Winnebago County Jail on the following charges.

Unlawful Restraint (four counts)
Unlawful Use of Weapons
No Firearm Owner’s Identification (FOID)
The charges against O’Bryan are merely accusations and not evidence of his guilt. As with defendants in all criminal cases O’Bryan is considered innocent unless proven guilty in court.
