On Friday, March 3, Vice President Mike Pence will travel to Janesville, Wisconsin to participate in listening sessions with Wisconsin business leaders and their employees. The Vice President, joined by Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Tom Price and Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, will hear from local businesses gathered at Blain’s Farm & Fleet Distribution Center. There, the Vice President will discuss the President’s economic agenda, including the repeal and replacement of Obamacare, and participate in a tour of the facility. The Vice President will conclude his visit with formal remarks.
Operational support and security for the Pence listening session at Blain Supply has concluded. Over 160 law enforcement and fire personnel from Janesville, Rock County, Dane County, Madison PD, Milton PD, Beloit PD, Evansville PD, Clinton PD, UW-Madison PD, and the Wisconsin Capitol Police provided assistance to the US Secret Service. Approximately 85 protesters gathered outside of the venue, but no arrests or injuries were reported. The Janesville Police Department greatly appreciates the assistance we received from our support services functions of the City of Janesville, SWEPT, and St. Mary’s Hospital for today’s event.
