On February 12, 2017 at approximately 12:50 p.m. Rockford Police officers responded to the 100 block of Flintridge Dr. for an Attempted Robbery. Upon arrival officers met with an eighty four year old male victim. The victim reported he was confronted by two black male suspects. The suspects demanded the victim’s car keys and then pushed and kicked him repeatedly. The suspects were unsuccessful in taking any property from the victim and they both fled on foot.
Detectives from the Rockford Police Department Violent Crime Unit have been conducting an investigation into the crime and recently reviewed the case with the Winnebago County States Attorney’s Office. The result of that review was the authorization of the charges and a warrant against the following subject:
CHRISTIAN Q. TURNER, 19 YEARS OLD, ROCKFORD RESIDENT
CHARGES: ATTEMPT (ROBBERY)
AGGRAVATED BATTERY TO VICTIM OVER 60
On March 21, 2017 at approximately 7:00 p.m. members of the Rockford Police Department S.C.O.P.E Unit arrested Christian Turner at his residence.
Turner was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail.
This is an active investigation and no further information is available for release at this time. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
The charges against Turner are merely accusations. He is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
