An informed community is a safer community.
The local police departments are encrypted or going encrypted here soon. It is very important that the citizens report what they see to us, so we are able to get the information out to the other citizens. We want everyone to be safe and in doing so we are keeping the community informed on what is going on.
There have been many instances where people have unknowingly interfered with a police scene recently, because they had no idea that there was even a scene going on. This is not safe for their community or the officers. When the police were un-encrypted we were able to post an almost real time what areas to avoid so this would not happen.
With the police being encrypted, the information is delayed, usually for many hours.
Rockford Police Department said that they were going to be transparent when they went encrypted. Their actions since they went encrypted, have proven different. They are not transparent, they refused to listen to the citizens, and the information that they do provide (A lot of times they never do provide information) is many hours or days later.
How is this safe for the community? How is this safe for the officers?
That is why it is extremely important that if you see any police or fire activity to contact us and let us know so we can get the information out there so you and others are able to avoid a potentially dangerous situation.
We want our community to be safe, we want our officers to be safe.
If you see any police or fire activity please contact us and let us know.
An informed community, Is a safer community!
