On March 19, 2017 at about 11 p.m., members of the Rockford Police SCOPE team went to an apartment complex in the 5700 block of Forest Hills Road to conduct a warrant check on 21-year-old Rockford resident, Marquell Reddic. Reddic was wanted on an Aggravated Fleeing to Elude warrant. Upon arrival, officers located Reddic sleeping in the driver’s seat of his vehicle that was parked in the parking lot. As officers attempted to take Reddic into custody, he began to resist and fight with officers. He was taken into custody. Reddic suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he was treated, released, and lodged in the Winnebago County Jail. During a search of the vehicle, officers located a quantity of heroin, marijuana, and cash.
Reddic was charged with the following offenses:
Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin within 1000 feet of a Church
Violation of the Cannabis Control Act
Aggravated Fleeing to Elude Warrant

The charges against Reddic are merely accusations. He is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
