Winnebago County State’s Attorney Joe Bruscato announced that yesterday, March 30, 2017, Cordall Sangster (D.O.B. 11/3/1993) was found guilty of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm after a bench trial on March 28th, 2017 in front of the Honorable Judge John Lowry.
In May of 2016, Rockford Police were called to the area of Andrews and North Central Avenue after reports of a shooting. Officers located a victim on the front stairs at 317 North Central Avenue. The victim told detectives that he was at a party at that location when he saw a Maroon colored car drive by several times at a fast rate of speed. He then reported that the passenger in that vehicle, Cordall Sangster, stuck his arm out of the window and started shooting. One of the bullets hit the victim in leg. The victim identified Sangster as the person who fired the shots.
Aggravated Battery with a Firearm is a Class X Felony that is punishable by a sentence of 6-30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by three years of Mandatory Supervised Release.
Sangster is scheduled to be sentenced May 11th, by the Honorable Judge Lowry at 1:30pm in Courtroom 314.
