On Saturday, February 4, 2017 at approximately 5:00 p.m., officers from the Rockford Police Department observed a vehicle, suspected in previous aggravated discharges over the past week, in the area of Whitman and School Streets. The vehicle was listed as stolen out of Loves Park.
As officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle fled for a short time, with the driver eventually exiting the vehicle and fleeing on foot. After a short foot chase, officers apprehended the suspect, identified as Kahlid Holliday. Officers also recovered a handgun which Holliday discarded during the foot pursuit.
Holliday, who is currently on parole and has two active warrants, is charged as follows:

CHARGES: No FOID
UUW by a Gang Member
Aggravated UUW by A Felon
Possession of a Stolen Vehicle
Aggravated Fleeing To Elude
No Valid Driver’s License
Holliday was transported to the Winnebago County Jail and lodged. A photo is attached.

The charges against Holliday are merely accusations. They are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
