On December 10th at 4:54 pm Officer Hollingshead was directed to the south side of Janesville for a hit and run accident. Officer Hollingshead spotted the suspect vehicle near Lapham Street and S. Pearl Street. He followed the vehicle until he was close enough to affect a traffic stop.
The vehicle continued north bound hitting another vehicle. The officer gave pursuit for a few more blocks and finally stopped the vehicle at 1026 S Pearl Street. This was the residence next door to where the suspect, Shane R Radabaugh, lived.
During the contact with Mr. Radabaugh, the officers smelled a strong odor of intoxicants coming from Radabaugh. He then refused any field sobriety testing. A check of his driving status revealed Radabaugh has four prior OWI convictions. Radabugh refused field sobriety testing at this time. Based on several factors observed by Officer Hollingshead, He arrested Shane Radabaugh for 5th offense operating while intoxicated.
Currently Shane Radabaugh is being held at the Rock County jail on his 5th offense for OWI, a felony. There may be additional charges pending the results of a legal blood draw.
